A bit about "Race Track": it's a fast-paced murder mystery set in the now-defunct Sheepshead Bay Race Track in 1880 Brooklyn. The lives of Jack (a scrappy female race track worker trying to pass as a man), Spiro (a talented but quick-tempered jockey) and Duds (a skilled African-American trainer) become forever intertwined. Set in recognizable Brooklyn locales as well as Hudson Valley towns like Hudson, Garrison and Claverack.
