"Elsewhere"

Paintings by Christopher Gee. Gee's graphic yet naive-looking paintings belie the hand of a skilled artist whose references mine the historical cannon of art. They conjure places both real and imagined, a fragmented journey though forested landscapes, waterways and vernacular architecture as dusk falls or under a moonlit night. The intimacy and execution of these paintings convey themes of silence, solitude, and the wonder of the natural world.
