D-Day—June 6, 1944—the biggest amphibious landing in history assaults Hitler’s Atlantic Fortress. Over 156,000 Allied forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region. World War II reenactors will discuss various aspects of the troops, tactics and weapons as well as what was happening on the home front and the changes in US society. Presentations throughout the day.
