A beginner acrylic painting class using still-life to learn the fundamentals of painting from observation. A still life will be set up in the classroom for students to copy. Working from direct observation, students will learn essential techniques for creating a compelling composition, mixing a proper color palette, and creating form from color. Participants will experiment by creating different values using more/less water, as well as experimenting with monochromatic, analogous, and complementary colors to create values.
