A Gang of Three: Dirty Words and Other Things

One Mile Gallery presents Dirty Words and Other Things, an exhibition by A Gang of Three, the multidisciplinary practice of William H. Dodge and Lincoln Hancock. Originating with a project proposed for the Malta Biennale addressing censorship in the United States, the work took an unexpected turn when the artists’ participation was itself canceled. Further developed during a residency at Headlands Center for the Arts, the resulting installation explores censorship, contested language, institutional power, public memory, and social control.
