Working with collage and photographs in these works, I strive for some universal significance by way of personal experience, memories, and dreams. Whether incorporating my own or other photography with mixed media, fabric, oil, or acrylic, I find myself going back to the human body; attempting to maintain equilibrium between the abstract and anthropomorphic shapes.
Influenced by Dada, Surrealism, and Russian Constructivism, I experiment with layering, mixing materials, and plying ambiguity, often using gender and iconography to study the dynamic between the individual, the mind, and nature. - Pat Horner
