City Winery Hudson Valley presents The Jazz Passengers live Sunday, September 13, at 6:30 PM. Founded in 1987 by saxophonist Roy Nathanson and trombonist Curtis Fowlkes, the band blends avant-garde jazz, post-bop, funk, world music, classical influences, and musical comedy. Emerging from New York’s Lower East Side avant-garde scene, The Jazz Passengers became known for inventive compositions, storytelling, and a spirit of cross-cultural collaboration. Nearly four decades later, the group continues that tradition with Nathanson, Bill Ware, Bradley Jones, E.J. Rodriguez, Sam Bardfeld, Gabe Nathanson, Lucy Hollier, Isaiah Barr, and guest vocalist Teri Roiger.
