Ethel has been left ten million dollars by her late husband. Her stepchildren want to get their hands on it and commit Ethel to a sanitarium. There she meets social misfits who have the skills to help her. This warm comedy leaves one with the hope that kindness and affection have not been entirely lost in a world that can seem motivated only by greed and dishonesty.
