Bridge Street Theatre sets sail with "South: A Nautical Musical," a seafaring operetta for grown-ups by Catskill songwriter Carmen Borgia. Set in 1860 on the eternally sinking ship Worthy, the tale follows young Wheeler’s surreal quest for his missing mother. Expect pirates, nuns, and cannibals (lesbian and otherwise) in a rollicking voyage filled with wit, melody, and tropical, tongue-in-cheek charm.
