In 1810, there were nine Black people enslaved on the Staatsburgh estate. In 1910, there were no recorded Black employees working inside Staatsburgh. What happened? Join Staatsburgh staff for a conversation - in-person and online - about their new research into this transition from a Black presence at Staatsburgh during the early 19th century to a total absence during the Gilded Age. "Slavery, Segregation & Staatsburgh" will be held in-person on Sunday, June 18 or via Zoom on Thursday, June 22. Reservations required: https://www.Bookeo.com/StaatsburghSHS Zoom link provided upon registration. Cost: free
