The groundbreaking Yiddish-language film SHTTL and star Moshe Lobel come to Newburgh to launch the Klezmer-on-Hudson cultural series. Filmed in Ukraine shortly before the current war, SHTTL follows a young man returning from Kyiv to his shtetl to reconnect with family, tradition, and the woman he loves—only to find she is expected to marry an aspiring rabbi. Told in one unflinching continuous shot, the film explores faith, family, minority life, and forbidden love while capturing a Jewish village in its final hours. In Yiddish with English subtitles.
