Sand Mandala Created for World Peace in Woodstock, October 16th-19th

The Tashi Kyil Tibetan Buddhist Institute of Kingston is hosting a series of community events to celebrate the creation of a Sand Mandala for World Peace in Woodstock, NY, on October 16th-19th. Free public events include the ceremonial creation and dissolution of the mandala, a lecture by renowned Buddhist scholar Robert Thurman, a Thangka art show, and live music and poetry. Buddhist monks who have traveled from the Tashi Kyil Monastery in Dehradun, India will create and then dissolve a stunning World Peace Sand Mandala—a sacred geometric configuration that signifies impermanence and renewal.
