Paintings by Jim Denney, Sculptures by Dennis Gordon: ON FIRE

ON FIRE brings together two artists whose lives were shaped by fire. Jim Denney spent more than twenty years as a seasonal wildland firefighter in the forests of the Pacific Northwest; his paintings are observations, recollections, and memorials for burning and vanishing wildlands. Dennis Gordon fought fires for the FDNY for nearly four decades, beginning in the South Bronx in 1978; his meticulously detailed sculptures recreate the abandoned tenements, factories, and industrial buildings he has explored since boyhood.
