"Masterclass" with Adrienne Truscott and Feidlim Cannon

Adrienne Truscott—known best for her nudity-forward, boundary-pushing burlesque performances—has decided to keep her clothes on for her newest show, "Masterclass," co-starring Feidlim Cannon of the Irish theater company Brokentalkers. After the two met in 2015 at the Sydney Festival, their mutual love for innovative storytelling and thought-provoking comedy evolved into a two-person show that cleverly examines the issues of gender and power within the world of fine art. Framed as an interview, Truscott takes on the role of the arrogant, self-involved artist who is getting relentlessly badgered by Cannon, the myth-fueling journalist who cares less for accuracy and more for sensationalism. This satirical dismantling of the macho artist using two familiar archetypes has had sold-out performances across the world, and is making a pit-stop at Bard College this week to give the Hudson Valley an opportunity to laugh hard and think deeply.
