'Layers of Her': An Art Exhibit of Mari Keeler Cornwell's Paintings

Raised in Venezuela and rooted in the Hudson Valley, Cornwell explores female identity through vivid portraiture, inspired by the women in her life—including her pioneering grandmother and artist aunt. Merging figures with richly patterned backgrounds, her work reflects themes of memory, resilience, and cultural lineage.
