In the Wild Dinner | Foxfire Mountain House | Food & Wine | Chronogram Magazine
Foxfire Mountain House has built a reputation for turning the Catskills landscape into part of the dining room, and its In the Wild series is perhaps the clearest expression of that idea. Returning June 28, the outdoor dinner begins with a tasting led by James Jelks of California's Florez Wines before guests make their way to a woodland dining site tucked into the property. There, a family-style feast unfolds at long communal tables beneath the trees. This year's opening menu, titled "Ocean Tides to Mountain Pasture," draws ingredients from both land and sea, paired with wine and beer throughout the evening. Equal parts dinner party and outdoor adventure, the event offers a chance to linger over a meal in one of the Catskills' more memorable settings.
