The topic will be Personal Protection and Safety with speaker Jackie Emsile. Jackie Emslie, of the City of Poughkeepsie NY, knows what it is like to be a victim. In her teens, she was subjected to stalking and harassment from a former boyfriend which progressed towards violence and danger. After the case was closed, she made the decision to use her experience as an opportunity to teach others about situational awareness and how to develop their own personal protection and security strategy. We go about our daily lives, hopefully with an awareness of our surroundings to avoid dangerous situations. In the event that trouble crosses our path, we must be prepared with at least some method of protecting ourselves and stopping the harmful action. Practical techniques will be introduced that anyone can make a part of their life.
