Calling all Francophiles: Spend this Saturday watching three new acclaimed films from France!
FilmColumbia's Larry Kardish has chosen three films made by emerging, award-winning French filmmakers to share with upstate audiences. Pauline Loquès' Nino (1pm) stars newcomer Théodore Pellerin, who plays a shy young man confronting his mortality. In Louise Hémon’s crafty period drama, The Girl in the Snow (4pm), a young schoolteacher arrives in an alpine village just before a tragic avalanche claims its first victim. Leave One Day (7pm) is a nostalgic comedy that follows a rising chef who soon longs for her old life back home.
