Pianist Adam Golka (“brilliant technique and real emotional depth” — The Washington Post) will play a selection of piano pieces by the young Johannes Brahms and Jan Swafford. Adam and Jan will chat about Brahms’ tumultuous early years, including anecdotes, scandals, and the most famous love triangle in the history of western music. Pianist Sophia Zhou will join forces with Mr. Golka in “Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann,” as an homage to Brahms’ dearest mentor and friend.
