Owners Brett and Rene Volker take the view that winemaking can and should be a living experiment rooted in the soil. They'll describe how they are cultivating hands-on relationships with growers in the Finger Lakes to produce wines grown sustainably and with minimal intervention. We'll hear about their adventures, three years on, growing hybrid grapes in Ancram, as they aspire to produce Ancram wines that evoke its landscape, soil and culture.
