In 2023, Dutchess County Government will complete a new extension to the William R. Steinhaus Rail Trail, extending north of the Walkway over the Hudson to the site of the former Hudson River State Hospital. This route passes by numerous landmarks of Poughkeepsie history from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth.
