Views from the Watershed: Bus Tours of the NYC water supply in the Catskills

Uploaded by Elle Lemon
The Ashokan Reservoir is our first stop!
Explore the landscape, history, and politics of the New York City water supply in the Catskills! NYC’s water supply has shaped the Catskills for more than a century. These two places, 100+ miles apart, are connected by water and by a _very_ complicated relationship. If you drink NYC water, live or spend time in the Catskills, these watershed stories are worth knowing. Half-day tours visit scenic places around the Ashokan Reservoir; the full-day tour visits the Ashokan and Pepacton Reservoirs. Participants on past tours called the experience “mind-blowing,” “wonderful and informative” and “riveting”!
