Wallkill River Center for the Arts in Montgomery NY presents Uncanny Garden, a exhibition of works on paper by Hudson Valley artist Theresa Gooby. Uncanny Garden opens with a reception on Saturday July 12 from 5-7pm. The show runs through September 6. WRCA is open Friday through Sunday 12-5pm.
Uncanny Garden explores themes of growth, transformation, mystery, identity and absurdity. Nature and the human connection to the natural world are forefront. These figures in this show challenge the dominant narrative of identity, allowing elements of the natural world to embody representations of the self.
