Tooker Gallery is thrilled to present Negative / Positive, a captivating new solo exhibition by artist Cynthia Karalla,

Cynthia Karalla advoids predetermined artistic plans, letting accidents, disruptions, and material damage dictate her process. Her solo exhibition, Negative / Positive, brings together diverse experimental series like Bleached, Cracked Ribs, and It’s Craigslist, Toots! Each project emerged from unexpected life circumstances—including chemically destroyed negatives, an injury recovery period, and a Craigslist robbery gone wrong. By embracing chance and vulnerability, Karalla shifts focal points away from aesthetic perfection toward intentional, raw alchemical transformation. Ultimately, this body of work challenges traditional ideas of control, inviting viewers to reframe unforeseen obstacles not as creative failures, but as rich opportunities for new sight.
