Tony Trischka is a Syracuse native who grew up surrounded by classical music. He discovered his passion for the banjo through the Kingston Trio's song "M.T.A." Trischka threw himself in the center of the folk revival movement by way of the Newport Folk Festival in the mid 60's and moved to New York City in the 70's where he was surrounded by like-minded artists. Now he is known for his modern take on blue grass and avant-gard banjo.
