In 1975, a group of young videographers showed up at CBGB nightclub and recorded the new bands then emerging, an era that came to be called Punk Rock. Metropolis Video recorded numerous bands over several months using live switched multiple portable video cameras, the current state of the art. Most notably, Metropolis recorded Talking Heads on three separate occasions.
At The Common Good, fellow Metropoloid, John Hazard, will present video of the first such concert with Talking Heads, a set that has never been screened publicly. A second, 28 minute set, recorded weeks after will follow.
