Taconic Opera’s 29th Season Begins: Beethoven’s 9th Symphony (Ode to Joy)! Matinee Nov. 14, Tarrytown Music Hall

The Taconic Opera Orchestra, Chorus and Soloists are preparing a special program to celebrate the 250th Birthday of one of the greatest composers of all time: Ludvig Van Beethoven! What better way to honor him than to perform his final symphony, a work that has been celebrated in the farthest reaches of the globe: Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, known throughout the world as the Ode to Joy. The program will also include some shorter works to add variety: the wild and frenzied Witches Sabbath chorus from the opera Mefistofele by Boito, plus Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1.
