TACONIC OPERA ORCHESTRA – Concertos in D: Ravel’s Concerto for Left Hand in D Major plus a World Premiere, Matinee May 9, 2026

Tarrytown Music Hall! TWO piano concertos in one concert: Maurice Ravel's incomparable Concerto for Left Hand in D Major, and the world premiere of Dan Montez's Piano Concerto #2 in D Minor. Both performed on a concert grand by rising star, Kessa Mefford, along with the full Taconic Opera Orchestra conducted by Music Director, Jun Nakabayashi. For Mefford, an award-winning pianist who specializes in the works of Ravel, this concert will be the culmination of an eight-year project, Whimsical Birdsong, where she has publicly performed every work that includes piano by the composer.
