Swing du Jour brings the infectious energy of Gypsy Jazz to life, blending traditional jazz, romantic ballads, and hot swing with flair. Inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, the all-acoustic Southern Connecticut quintet reimagines American and European standards in vibrant Gypsy swing style.
Featuring Howie Carlough (violin), Norman Plankey (guitar), Danny Elias (clarinet), Jamie Doris (bass), and Luke Hendon (guitar), their spirited performances have been called “irresistible” and “amazing.” Bring a lawn chair and a picnic! Light refreshments are available. In case of rain, the concert will be held indoors. A joyful, toe-tapping evening for all!
