Susan Still Scott: Arrows in my Quiver, solo exhibition. Scott makes constructed paintings that explore how materials communicate, how processes and formal relationships develop narratives relevant to our lives. A sense of urgency is expressed in quick repairs, ripped edges, and parts that do not quite meet. Colorful exteriors suggest humor and belie an undercurrent of anxiety by animating re-used, neglected or damaged materials. Scott’s work reflects contradictory emotional and physical states that shape our decisions and direct our lives. On view April 6-28, Saturday + Sunday 1-5pm.
