"Sunlight through our eyes" by Gemma Bailey opening reception

In this collection of paintings and collage on paper, Bailey relishes the natural world in a contemplative celebration of plants, focusing on themes of acceptance and the importance of slowing down. Though the work is derived from the biosphere of plants and nature, there is a combination of organic and synthetic elements that interact with one another. Bailey expresses the inherent playfulness of flora through whimsical compositions that balance organic shapes, geometric elements, muted colors and soft embellishments.
