In 2024, Jay Beckenstein and Spyro Gyra began observing their 50th anniversary, a milestone few bands in any genre achieve. What started in Buffalo, NY as a simple diversion — a group of friends gathering on their night off for a “Tuesday Night – Jazz Jam” that cost twenty-five cents at the door — evolved into one of the most successful jazz fusion groups in the world.
