Brenda Bufalino presents her new book Song of the Split Elm, in which she re-creates and imagines the life of her great grandmother, the first in the line of three generations of female artists. Born in Wells Maine in the mid 1800s, with her hypnotic voice and free spirit, her very existence tortured her father who was intent on silencing her by any means.
