Multi-media Exhibition of five sterling artists to honor Black Heritage Month
This multi-media exhibition features the vibrant voices of five distinctive visual artists, who explore Black history and culture through paintings and sculptures. Curated by Karen E. Gersch, the work of Lillian Alberti, Melissa Small Cooper, Ted Dixon, Stevenson Estime and Madge Scott ranges from intense abstracts and colorful geometrics to finely figurative florals and spiritually emotive portraits. In 2023, Gersch co-curated "'Cause We Be Complicated: Dialogues of Black Artists", for which she and Jonette O'Kelly Miller received a Community Grant Award from the NYS legislature - administered by Arts Mid-Hudson. Several of those artists are showing here with new work.
