Build a sculptural vessel of your own design. In this workshop boat builder and artist Biz Goldhammer will share her love of sculptural/functional design, introduce you to a variety of boatbuilding forms and histories, and then will guide you through building a sculptural vessel considering traditional techniques and using basic materials. This workshop will include visit to the Mid- Hudson Martime Museum for a look at local boatbuilding history, and for inspiration. We will extend the day on July 25 until 3pm to accommodate an afternoon field trip/visit to the museum and waterfront.
