Vinay received knowledge in vocal/harmonium/tabla from Shafiq Rahman in his teens. In 2011, with blessings and direct guidance of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Vinay began his studies under Takahiro Arai and Dhananjay Daithankar. Vinay has also learnt from different teachers such as the late Pandit Ramesh Mishra, Parthasarathi Chatterjee and Jay Gandhi. He currently resides at Shanti Mandir, Walden, NY where he continues his studies and performs. Vinay will be accompanied by an outstanding young tabla virtuoso, Unmesh Banerjee Unmesh has been an artist of All India Radio and has been performing since the age of 6.
