Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival

Traditionally held in Washington, DC, Sakura Matsuri is the largest exhibition of Japanese culture in the United States where thousands of people come together to celebrate the blooming of the cherry blossom trees on Pennsylvania Avenue. Cherry blossoms are significant to Japanese culture because they symbolize the fleeting beauty of life, renewal, and the arrival of Spring. In order to honor the Japanese community of the Hudson Valley, Dassai Blue Sake Brewery in Hyde Park is hosting their own two-day Sakura Matsuri on their property, where guests are encouraged to picnic under the cherry blossoms, shop at their outdoor craft market with Japanese vendors from all over the Hudson Valley and New York City, enjoy fresh, homemade sushi, and listen to live music. They will be serving all seven of their sake varieties by the glass, but will also be serving local beer from Suarez Family Brewing. No tickets are required!
