In the far west of a war-torn 1920s Ireland, 12 year old Winifred is about to get shipped off to America by her snarky Granny. With the help of her best and only friend, a monster from the Irish Famine, Winifred hatches a plot to save the Irish Republic so she can remain in her homeland. Mamó is an irreverent tale about the stories that make us who we are, the family histories we pass down - and the truths we don’t dare to share.
