Garrison Art Center presents "Rise: Scenes of Resistance," a solo photography exhibition by Jeremy Dennis, running from May 17 to June 22, 2025. The exhibition explores Indigenous identity, loss of culture, and the impact of colonization, focusing on Dennis's experiences as a Shinnecock Indian Nation member. The show features four interconnected projects: 'Rise,' 'Nothing Happened Here,' 'On This Site,' and 'Sacredness of Hills.' Events include an opening reception on May 17 from 5 - 7 pm and an artist talk on May 17 from 3 - 4 pm. Public workshops and a family session will be held on May 18.
