Punk Island is an annual music festival, now in it's eleventh year it is the largest all ages, all free, DIY Punk festival in New York City. Held on June 22nd, 2019 on Randall's Island, under the auspices of Make Music New York - itself a city-wide celebration of every genre imaginable from polka to bluegrass to rock. There are no big, flashy names and no corporate sponsorships, this is a punk-as-heck affair that relies on the spirit and drive of the DIY punk scenes all over NYC and the surrounding areas, using benefit shows as one of their main sources of funding.
