PS21's House Blend Concerts

PS21’s annual house blend concerts never fail to bring us a mix of classical and contemporary music with collaborations, cutting-edge compositions, and unprecedented creativity. This year, Connor Hanick will start off the concert series, bringing elegant flair to the works of Galina Ustvolskaya and Johannes Brahm. Gelsey Bell (voice) and Erin Rogers (saxophone) will bring their sonically sculpted composition Skylighght to the stage after a performance in a double bill with composer and improviser Patrick Higgins. Conor Hanick returns in a performance of sonatas with violinist Miranda Cuckson. Next, Bonnie Whiting will be performing Wang Lu’s Stages, a mix of urban environmental sounds, traditional Chinese stylings, and improvisation in a double bill with thematic composer Davóne Tines. Lastly, Gamelan Yowana Sari—a group of 20 artists performing traditional Balinese music and dance alongside the Samara Dana gamelan.
