Nosferatu with Live Music

The Crandell goes back to its roots with a cinematic experience of haunting music and classic horror, just in time for Halloween! Relive legendary director F. W. Murnau's silent masterpiece Nosferatu as it sounded in 1922, with chilling, atmospheric live organ accompaniment by Ben Model. Unlike other silent film directors of the era, Murnau (Sunrise, Faust) shot this unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula on location, in the Carpathian mountains. He also made use of shadows and emerging techniques like negative exposure, stop-motion and low-angle camera positions, to give his sinister, taloned vampire Graf Orlok an altogether otherworldly presence.
