Nora Brown plays old-time traditional music with a particular interest in eastern Kentucky and Tennessee banjo playing. Still only 17, she also sings traditional unaccompanied ballads from southeast Appalachia and beyond.
The Down Hill Strugglers is an old-time string band based out of Brooklyn, NY, and Louisville, KY, playing songs, ballads, fiddle tunes, and banjo breakdowns.
With youthful enthusiasm and age-old reverence, Nora plays music of Appalachian origin, best expressed through her banjo virtuosity, while The Down Hill Strugglers keep the best music of the past alive and lively. Playing separately and together, this will be a very special evening!
