A cinematic love letter to pre-gentrified New York, Philip Hartman's No Picnic (1986) returns in a new 4K restoration. Shot in black and white across the East Village in the summer of 1985, the film stars Richard Hell, Judith Malina, Luis Guzmán, and Steve Buscemi in a neo-noir comedy that captured a downtown moment just before it vanished. Cinematographer Peter Hutton won the Excellence in Cinematography Award at the 1986 Sundance Film Festival.
