Emmy Award-winning MSNBC host and New York Times bestselling author Chris Hayes will be at the Bardavon Opera House in Poughkeepsie on Saturday to discuss his new book The Sirens' Call: How Attention Became the World's Most Endangered Resource. Hayes argues that attention has become a commodified asset; something we once considered to be autonomous is now being manipulated by big corporations for monetary profit, much like manual labor was in the nineteenth century. However, Hayes invites the Hudson Valley to be fully present with him as he uses his educated experience as a political commentator and well-researched opinions to explain how we can reverse the effects of technological dehumanization in order to regain control of our future.
