Bradley Cooper becomes the legendary conductor and composer in his biopic about Leonard Bernstein's career and marriage to Costa Rican-Chilean-American actress and pianist Felicia Cohn Montealegre, a fashion icon who became a political activist. Cooper and Carey Mulligan deliver a glittering, complex portrait that radiates with the rhythms and melodic themes of Bernstein's music. The Bernsteins' daughter, Nina Bernstein Simmons, will join us for a Q+A with Christopher Rothko, son of abstract painter Mark Rothko, after the screening. Rothko, a classical music critic, will interview Bernstein Simmons. Tickets $20 to benefit the Crandell restoration.
