Life Along the Hudson: The Historic Country Estates of the Livingston Family
When: Sun., Feb. 10, 3-4:30 p.m. 2019
Pieter Estersohn’s most recent book features three dozen country homes, many overlooking the Hudson River and offering some of the finest examples of American architecture and landscape design. Constructed on land owned by the influential Livingston family, who
settled in the area in the late 17th century, many homes have been restored to their former splendor by original owner’s descendants as well as recent leaders of New York City industry and the arts. An acclaimed photographer of architecture and interiors, Estersohn, who owns a home in Red Hook, will talk about his research, focusing on estates in Red Hook.
