Eli Walker and Broadway in Beacon Co-Present: Kill the Buddha - a darkly comedic solo performance about the modern obsession with expertise, belonging and the seductive promise that somebody out there has The Way. It's part confessional memoir, part satire of wellness culture. It's framed around a disastrously honest podcast interview, and it ricochets between the yoga teacher who exploited my search for meaning, the media machine that turned my irreverence into a product and my own very real complicity in turning pain into performance. I play a rotating cast of characters - (one of them being me!).
