In honor of the B-52's 45th anniversary of their first album release in 1979, as well as her solo career's sophomore album which released this past September, Kate Pierson will be performing at City Winery this Friday alongside award-winning Indie Rock trio, BETTY. Though the B-52's have landed an iconic Las Vegas residency at the Venetian Theater this November, Pierson continues to create and expand her personal career since she branched out with her debut album Guitars and Microphones in 2015. Over the years, Pierson has collaborated with top acts such as The Ramones, Iggy Pop, R.E.M. Jack White and Pop sensation Sia, making guest performances on some critically-acclaimed albums such as Jack White's Third Man Records Blue series. Outside of her musical career, Pierson is also a seasoned actress, appearing with her B-52 bandmates in the 1994 live-action version of The Flintstones, lending her voice to the 1998 animated The Rugrats Movie, as well as appearances in "Portlandia," "RuPaul's Drag Race," and solo appearances in "Difficult People," HBO’s "Flight of the Conchords.” and in Oprah Winfrey’s series "Where Are They Now” with a full updated profile. Outside of the entertainment industry, Kate and her partner own the Lazy Meadow, a rustic mid century motel, in the Catskills Mountains near Woodstock, NY as well as Kate's Lazy Desert, a vintage Airstream motel, near the Mojave High Desert in California.
