Julia Elsas Opening Party + SONIC MUD Live!

Join us for a night of ceramic and sound during the Opening Party for 'Above Ground' - an exhibition of sonic sculptures by artist and musician Julia Elsas. Inspired by the shape and sonority of traditional udu drums from Nigeria and ancient indigenous instruments from Mexico and South America, she hand builds ceramic instruments including flutes, drums, natural trumpets, water whistles and more. Activating her sculptures with sound, her band SONIC MUD will perform a special live set during the party featuring musicians Kenny Wollesen, Kirk Knuffke, and Madeleine Ventrice.
